Dr. Heather Baker, R.Psych., Director of Clinical Services
Dr. Baker is a Registered Psychologist and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor through Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. She holds a doctorate in School Psychology and a master’s in Clinical Psychology (both through the University of British Columbia). Dr. Baker specializes in assessment and program planning for individuals with anxiety, learning, attention, and behavioural challenges across the lifespan. She enjoys providing supervision to practicum and internship students and participating in research partnerships in the community. She is a member of CanLearn’s Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Dr. Baker joined CanLearn in 2018.
Amy Winters, M.Ed., Registered Psychologist
Amy holds a Master of Education degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary. She brings over a decade of clinical experience in the areas of learning, attention, and mental health. Amy’s work with the CanLearn Society is focused in ADHD and Mental Health assessment services, including intervention planning and differential diagnosis.
Aryn Lisitza, MSc, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Aryn is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Research Associate through the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. She holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and, uniquely, a Bachelor of Health Science Honours from the University of Calgary. Aryn joined CanLearn in 2020, taking on the role of counsellor, program and group facilitator, and member of the Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Aryn specializes in counselling neurodivergent adolescents and adults with emotional and social/relational challenges, taking a highly collaborative approach to therapy. Outside of CanLearn, Aryn enjoys reading, hiking, salsa dancing, and, most of all, connecting with family and friends!
Cecilia Ye-O’Neill, M.Sc., Registered Provisional Psychologist
Cecilia (or Cici) finished her M.Sc. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in counselling from the University of Calgary. She has over a decade’s experience working in the mental health field. She helps children, teens, and adults find their strengths and better cope with life’s challenges by using a combination of collaborative therapeutic modalities. Her areas of specialization are counselling and behavioral consultations for developmental diversities (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, selective mutism, etc). Cecilia is also currently training in psychoeducational and mental health assessments. Additionally, Cecilia has special training in EMDR (finishing Jan 2023) for individuals who would like more targeted support for their trauma or unhelpful belief systems, as well as Gottman’s couples counseling to help support couples in strengthening their bond. She is LGBQT2S+ and BIPOC allied. Finally, Cecilia can speak Mandarin-Chinese for those that need a language bridge.
Derek Phung, B.A (Hons) in Psychology
Derek is a third-year student at the University of Calgary’s Masters of Science in School and Applied Child Psychology program. Derek has conducted supervised psychoeducational assessments, and has co-facilitated CanLearn’s Friends, and Let’s Talk ADHD! programs as part of his practicum placement at CanLearn. He currently works as a facilitator in CanLearn’s Friends, and Reading Pilots programs. Derek believes deeply in the transformative power of learning in all its forms—academic, social, emotional, and intrapersonal. He carries this belief into the work he does here. Outside of work, you may find Derek at local culture events, dining out, or in the gym, or at home making pour over coffees, and watching Studio Ghibli films!
Eric Trinh, B.Ed., BSc.
Eric is a third-year student at the University of Calgary’s School and Applied Child Psychology program. Before this role, he was a full-time elementary teacher with the Calgary Board of Education, teaching Grades 4 and 5 at G.W. Skene School in East Calgary. His work with families and students at G.W. Skene led him to embark on the journey of transitioning roles to becoming a school psychologist.
Jaime Gaber, M.Sc., Canadian Certified Counsellor, Clinical Programs Coordinator
Jaime Gaber is a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a master’s degree in School Psychology (through the University of Calgary). Jaime is the coordinator of clinical programs at CanLearn and manages, coordinates and oversees community-based and in-house programs for individuals with social-emotional, learning, attention, and behavioural challenges. She enjoys supervising staff and volunteers, supporting program development and participating in research partnerships in the community. Jaime joined CanLearn in 2014.
Jodi Kresowaty, M.Sc., Registered Psychologist
Jodi holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary. Jodi specializes in the assessment and intervention of children and adults in the areas of attention, learning, anxiety and mood related difficulties. She facilitates programs for youth and adults to support ADHD and emotional regulation and has developed a social/emotional learning curriculum for students who have difficulty managing emotions. Jodi has worked at CanLearn Society for ten years.
Kalyn Wiebe, M.Ed., Registered Psychologist
Kalyn (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist and holds a Master of Education from the University of Calgary in School and Applied Child Psychology. She has supported children and their families for over ten years in clinical settings, specialized educational settings as well as home-based programming. Kalyn is passionate about supporting families and children to build upon their strengths in order to promote long term success. She provides psychoeducational assessment as well as play-based, functional, family and child centered approaches to intervention.Kelsey Friesen-Burritt, M.Sc., Provisional Psychologist
Kelsey is a clinician and group facilitator at CanLearn. She is currently a PhD student in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Calgary. Kelsey began her journey with CanLearn as a practicum student during her MSc and has experience in psychoeducational assessment, counselling, and group facilitation. She has been part of the Friends, Calm Kids, and Let’s Talk ADHD programs, as well as the counselling services team. The majority of Kelsey’s clinical work has been with neurodiverse children and youth.
Laura Godfrey, Certified ADHD Life Coach
Laura has been with CanLearn for over 18 years and is an ICF and PAAC-credentialed ADHD Life Coach, an AudHD Coach (Autism) and an ADHD Parent Coach. She is also certified in The Shanker Method of Self-Reg®. Laura has worked with families and individuals as an ADHD Coach for over seven years to help them manage their strengths and challenges and learn how to work with their brains. Laura is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest information about ADHD. Her ADHD Coach training is through the ADD Coach Academy, and she holds a Self-Reg Foundations Certificate through the Mehrit Centre. She also facilitates ADHD support groups and provides support on digital information management at CanLearn.
Lisa Nguyen, MC, Canadian Certified Counsellor
Lisa is accredited by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She embarked on her academic journey fueled by a desire to serve those around her and understand the conditions that foster well-being. This led her to attain an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Honours, followed by the completion of a Master of Counselling degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Calgary. Within the realm of counselling, she adopts a holistic therapeutic approach, integrating methodologies such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy techniques. Lisa’s counselling style is characterized by a client-centred and collaborative approach, ensuring that each individual’s unique journey is acknowledged and given priority. With a rich background in working within educational settings and providing support to individuals spanning diverse age groups – from children and teenagers to adults – she possesses a comprehensive understanding of and the ability to address a broad spectrum of challenges people face. Her warm and empathetic demeanour creates a secure space for personal growth and healing, irrespective of age or background.
Dr. Meadow Schroeder, Registered Psychologist
Meadow has extensive experience assessing a range of presenting problems including learning disabilities, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. She enjoys working with children, youth and adults. In addition to her clinical work, she is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary. Her research interests include student well-being, issues surrounding the identification of learning disabilities, and the transition to post-secondary for students with disabilities.
Neva Capin, International BA in Psychology
Neva has a 4-year Baccalaureate degree in Psychology, and worked as a School Psychologist in an elementary school in Croatia, with a focus on developing programs for gifted individuals and families. She moved to Canada 6 years ago and facilitates the Friends and Teen Talk programs at CanLearn. Neva completed training in Clinical Expressive Art Therapy (CEAT) with Dr. Avi Goren-Bar. She has a strong interest in social justice and uses her social justice lens when developing community programs. Neva continues her professional development by working with oppressed minorities such as LGBTQ+ youth, immigrants, and children and youth with challenges regarding discrimination. She is currently a proud member of AR – DEI committee at CanLearn.
Riley Morrell, MSc, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Ryan Clancy, MSc. Registered Provisional Psychologist
Ryan is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who provides assessment and intervention services for children and adults. Ryan is passionate about empowering individuals to harness their strengths and understand their needs as they navigate through their own journey toward success. He joined CanLearn in 2021 and has a background in providing early intervention services and behavioural supports for children with complex challenges. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, board games, and spending time in nature.
Roslyn Gaetz, M.Ed., ADHD Coach
Roslyn Gaetz, M.Ed, is a Professional Development Coach who has dedicated her life to supporting others in reaching their personal and professional goals. Roslyn holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education (Yorkville University), a Certification in Lumina Spark, and a Professional Coach designation (Alder International), and until 2017 was an active member of the International Coaching Federation (PCC). Roslyn has held positions at the University of Manitoba, the University of Victoria, Royal Road University, and North Island College. Roslyn is skilled at helping clients identify behaviour patterns that support continued growth. She understands how to leverage talents and how to create meaningful strategic goals, that lead to results.
Samantha Orr, M.Ed., Registered Provisional Psychologist, Reading Pilots Coordinator
Sam holds a Master’s degree in School and Applied Child Psychology through the University of Calgary. She provides assessments for individuals living with learning, mental health, and attention challenges. She also provides counselling, consultation, social skills training, and reading interventions through CanLearn. Inspired by her background in behavioural interventions and trauma-informed practice, she is passionate about helping individuals learn the tools they need to meet their goals, whatever they may be. In her free time, Sam enjoys biking around the city, playing any kind of sport and eating good food.
Stephanie Innocent, M.Ed., Registered Provisional Psychologist
Stephanie is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a permanently certified Alberta teacher. She holds a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary, as well as two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Concordia University. Stephanie offers psychoeducational assessments and counselling. She is also a facilitator for CanLearn Friends program and a Reading Pilots instructor. Stephanie is fluent in English and French.
Susan Hendrickson, M.Sc., Registered Psychologist
Susan is a Registered Psychologist with an extensive history of providing support to families with children with developmental disabilities in Southern Alberta. She has provided intervention in homes, schools and the community to help build awareness of neurodiversity and the various needs accompanying that, using a transdisciplinary model that looks at overall development and meaningful learning. Susan has sat on numerous boards and alliance initiatives aimed at coordinating services for families in Alberta (e.g., working to integrate services across education, health, mental health and social services). She has worked as a clinical service coordinator on various teams providing specialized services to families qualifying for FSCD programming. Susan has a strong background in the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in toddlers, children, youth and adults and provides ASD training and supervision to psychologists new to the process. She also enjoys supervising university interns and provisional psychologists.
Tishina Shannacappo, M.Ed., Registered Provisional Psychologist
Tishina is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who supports the facilitation of CanLearn’s clinical programs (e.g., Friends and Teen Talk). She holds a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in Gender and Indigenous Studies. Currently, she is a second-year doctoral student in the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) EdD program, with a specialization in School and Counselling Psychology. She is concurrently enrolled as a second-year student in the University of Calgary’s post-graduate certificate program in Couple and Family Therapy. Previously, Tishina worked as a provisionally certified school psychologist within a Manitoba First Nations education system, serving eight rural and remote communities. She takes a precise, heart-based, and systemic approach to both therapy and assessment.
