Friends and Teen Talk
A fun and engaging social-emotional skills learning program for children and teens.
Some children and teens have trouble making friends and handling their emotions. We can help!
Who is it for?
- Children and teens in Grades 4 – 9 who need extra support with social and emotional skills.
What to expect?
- Individualized or group sessions for children and teens to learn and practice skills for making friends and handling emotions.
- Sessions are offered with a skilled program facilitator.
- Instruction in the program involves explicit teaching of skills through discussions, practice, problem-solving and interactive activities.
- Children are encouraged to try skills outside of the sessions.

Why?
- Social-emotional learning has a positive impact on a wide range of outcomes, including academic performance, healthy relationships, mental wellness, and more.
The program is offered FREE of charge to residents of the City of Calgary.

Spring registration is now open!
Friends Group – (Grades 4 – 6)
Thursdays – 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
April 11 – June 13, 2024.
Takes place at the CanLearn Society.
Teen Talk Group (Grades 7 – 9)
Wednesdays – 5:00 – 6:00 pm OR 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
April 10 – June 12, 2024.
Takes place virtually.
1-on-1 Sessions
10 one-hour weekly sessions.
Runs from April to June.
Flexible scheduling.
In-person and virtual sessions are available.
