Calm Kids Happy Families is a program for parents and children to learn skills to support self-regulation difficulties.
What to expect?
- The parent program focuses on educating and enriching parents’ understanding of self-regulation and strategies to help children regulate their emotions, calm themselves, cope with stress and worry, communicate effectively, solve problems and improve relationships.
- The child program focuses on teaching and practicing the strategies of self-regulation in a small group setting (5-7 children). Topics and content designated to each group are based on the developmental needs and appropriateness of the respective age groups.
Why?
- Self-regulation difficulties are more common in children who are neurodiverse. This can result in social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Children who can self-regulate are more likely to experience success.
Who is it for?
- Parents and children.
